Wonderful pair of large, early naive painted carvings, with losses and extensive historical worm damage. These engaging pair of figures are remarkably characterful. Possibly a take on Political satyr. They are found in their original paint, and are untouched. They have been mounted on later bespoke stands. The blue figure is unusual and well captured with a slightly turning posture, complete with satchel. The red figure has articulating arms, with a wonderful engaging expression. France Circa 1850. Priced for the pair.
