Stock Number: 1188Original 19th Century naive watercolour of the 16th century Star Inn, Alfriston East Sussex, as well as the market cross in the distance, captures a wonderful street scene incorporating some of the finest British folk art in one scene, The Lion figurehead by the Star in and the incorporated corbels in the same building, the George Inn with its impressive sign and wrought iron work bracket. Wonderful original label verso explaining the scene, monogramed dated 1897. England.
