David Maccoby was born in 1925 in Sunderland, he embraced romantic expressionism and surreal abstraction art. Post War he studied at The Chelsea School of Art. His career was cut short by his failing eyesight, however his career included highlights included exhibitions at the Bernheim-Jeane, Paris. The London Group and the Ben Uri, London. The collection are female portraits one being unfinished. the paintings are typical of his work with direct haunting gazes, and evolving towards expressionism. England. Circa 1970.
