This image of a hand with a heart in the palm was often used by Shakers in the north eastern united states as a reminder of the words " Put your hands to work and your heart to God" It was also an image used by the Independent Order Of Oddfellows, a fraternal organization derived from English Oddfellows orders of the mid 18th century. English circa 1900
