Cast Iron Butchery Plaque

Stock Number: HB263

19th Century cast iron plaque or sign depicting a distressed family, Father racked with guilt slaughtering a goose, probably their own. The eager family dog however tugging his masters cloak, tail wagging. Original painted finish, wonderfully detailed casting. Sadly we cannot be certain what this was for but more than likely some form of sign in a butchers, advertising their ability to take the job of slaughtering animals away from the home. English Circa 1880.
