Naive Sheepdog Oil Painting

Stock Number: HB594

Charming large naive sheepdog oil painting on card,, The lying dog with crossed undersized forepaws has an intriguing naivety. Surely a beloved pet or working dog, the clearly untrained artist more than likely the owner. Found and offered in its original state, Craquelure present and heavy in places, along with paint loss in areas. The wear suggests this painting has resided above a fireplace mantle, original backboards in place, Measurements inclusive of frame. Unattributed England Circa 1880.
